LESSON 5 · Ace Any Job Interview

The Power of Silence

Most rambling happens because people fear silence. They finish a point and pile on qualifiers, disclaimers, and tangents to fill the gap. A calm pause reads as confidence to the interviewer, even when it feels like failure to you. Let the pause breathe.

After you answer, do not keep explaining. Replace filler endings like "So, yeah" with one final sentence that names the result, then stop. A clean ending makes the answer feel finished, not abandoned. "Speed matters more than perfection." Full stop.
