The Unfair Advantage

People who get promoted are rarely just the smartest in the room. They are the ones who built the case before they needed it. "I work hard" is easy to forget; a record of measurable impact gives your manager something hard to argue with on paper.

Your manager has to defend you in a room you will never enter. Hand them one concrete story they can repeat without you: "cut onboarding time in half" travels; "always reliable" does not. Shape your proudest result into one sentence a busy person remembers.
