Networking, Without the Cringe

The classic advice is to "build your network" — collect contacts, swap cards, follow up. For most people it feels hollow, even a little fake. There is a better way that skips the awkward part entirely: instead of trying to know people, make something with them.

Co-creation flips the whole script. A networking chat asks, "Can you help me?" A shared project says, "Let us build this together." One feels like taking. The other feels like partnership — and partners remember each other long after a name on a card is forgotten.
