The Power Pause

Confident speakers use silence deliberately. After a key point, pause for 2-3 seconds before continuing. The silence feels eternal to you and normal to them. It signals certainty — because someone who rushes sounds like they're outrunning a fact-check.

Make the pause physical: inhale before the sentence, land the period, then move. Record one minute and mark every filler. Measure the gaps, not just the words; the pause becomes a control cue instead of a rescue from panic.
