LESSON 2 · Build a Reputation That Precedes You

Frame Their Words

A win only echoes if the listener can retell it without effort. Do the editing for them: drop jargon, lead with the result — "retention went from 41% to 58%" — then add one sentence on what changed. If a busy listener cannot repeat it, the story dies.

The version that spreads is the one a non-expert can repeat. If your story needs three sentences and a diagram, it stalls at the first retelling. Brevity makes a win portable, and portable wins reach the rooms you were never invited to.
