Test yourself: are you reliable only when it's convenient, or when it costs you something? Do you help only people who can help you back?

Standards are easiest to drop during stressful stretches, which is exactly when people are watching most closely. Hold yourself to them then, and the signal lands far louder than any calm-day promise.
