LESSON 2 · Career Small Talk

Practice Makes Progress

Conversation skills are muscles. Practice daily in low-stakes situations: the grocery checkout, your building's lobby, or a colleague's desk where the cost of an awkward line is zero.

Set a specific weekly goal: "This week I'll use three bridge sentences with new people." Track what works and what falls flat. Within a month, you'll develop a personal conversation style that feels authentic rather than scripted, because the reps have quietly replaced the nerves.

The goal isn't to become an extrovert — it's to become someone who can create genuine connection in any situation, on your own terms.
