Humans evolved navigating real environments for millions of years, so our spatial memory is extraordinarily powerful. You can probably walk through your childhood home in your mind right now, picturing every room.

Also called the method of loci, this technique dates back to ancient Greek and Roman orators who memorized hours-long speeches without notes. They mentally placed key ideas in specific locations along a familiar route and simply "walked" through it during delivery.
