OKRs separate inspiration from measurement. The Objective is qualitative and motivating; the Key Results are numeric tests that prove whether progress happened.

Popularized by John Doerr at Google, OKRs are designed for ambitious, organization-wide goals where the path is not fully clear. Key Results should feel like a stretch: achieving 70% of a Key Result is considered a success.
