LESSON 1 · Goals That Actually Happen

When to Use Each

Use SMART goals when the outcome is clear and within your direct control. Personal fitness targets, learning milestones, and individual project deliverables all fit perfectly. SMART goals work best for execution-focused situations where you know what success looks like.

Use OKRs when you need to align a team around an ambitious direction and the specific path is uncertain. They keep everyone pointed at the same outcome while leaving room to figure out how to get there.
