Voluntary Vulnerability
Great questions invite depth without demanding it. "What is something you have changed your mind about recently?" opens a door. "Tell me about your childhood trauma" kicks it down.

Keep questions forward-looking rather than interrogative. "What are you most excited about right now?" usually feels safer than "What is your biggest regret?" People often share more when the question lets them choose a positive or useful angle instead of feeling examined.
