Gestures That Count

Some gestures do real work for your argument. Precision gestures make numbers and details feel solid. Say "three key reasons" and hold up three fingers, and the count lands harder than the words alone. Spatial gestures sort ideas in the air. Put one option to your left and the other to your right when you say "this versus that," and your listener can suddenly see the two sides instead of just hearing them. Used well, your hands turn an abstract point into something the audience can almost touch.
