Speed Over Comfort
Most managers wait too long to give tough feedback. They soften, delay, and hint, hoping the person will figure it out. They rarely do. The longer you wait, the more the moment fades and the harder the talk gets. Details blur, the behavior hardens into a habit, and the other person stops connecting your words to anything they actually did.

SBI is a useful feedback frame: situation, behavior, impact. It keeps the conversation anchored in what happened, what the person did, and why it mattered.
