LESSON 1 · The Feedback Loop

Timing the Conversation

Feedback has a freshness window, but it is a rule of thumb, not a fixed 24-48 hour law. Aim for soon enough that details are still clear and the correction feels relevant. Wait too long, and memory, justification, and surprise can blur the event.

Public correction often triggers defensiveness because the person now has to manage the audience as well as the feedback. Private feedback protects dignity and improves the odds they can hear you.
