Universal Deception
You may have told a small social lie today without thinking about it. This is not automatically a moral failing.

In a classic University of Massachusetts study, psychologist Robert Feldman found that about 60% of people told at least one lie during a single 10-minute conversation with a stranger. Most were small: "I'm fine," "Traffic was terrible." These social lubricant lies smooth interactions and help us avoid needless conflict.
