Verbal Fingerprints
Some lies leave linguistic traces. Body language can be ambiguous, and words can be too, but verbal shifts sometimes reveal where a story deserves closer examination.

People sometimes distance themselves from uncomfortable claims. They may avoid personal pronouns: "The report was submitted late" instead of "I submitted the report late." Passive voice can obscure agency, but it can also be habit or politeness.
