Physical Departure Signs

Bodies reveal mental absence in a predictable order:

  • Glazed eyes — a fixed gaze that no longer tracks your movement
  • Micro-fidgeting — pen clicking, paper folding, cuticle picking
  • Postural collapse — slumping, chin on hand, leaning back
  • Side conversations and frequent shifting in seats

No single cue confirms disengagement. But when three or more appear at once across several people, you have lost the room — and pushing harder with the same material only deepens the drift.
