The Voice Shift
Your voice is a remote control for attention. When energy drops, most speakers instinctively talk louder. That is the wrong move — it creates fatigue. Instead, drop your volume dramatically. Whisper a key point. Quiet creates contrast that forces listening.

When passive listening fails, switch to active participation. Give the audience something to do: a quick poll by show of hands, a 30-second writing exercise, a prediction — "Write down what you think the answer is." Active participation kills passive coasting.
