Recovery Moves for Mistakes
The gap between amateurs and pros isn't perfection — it's recovery speed. When you lose your place, pause, take a breath, and glance at your notes. The audience barely registers a two-second pause, but they definitely notice panic. If a slide is wrong, just say "Let me skip ahead" and keep your energy up. One thing never to say: "Sorry, I'm really anxious right now." Naming your nerves makes the room uncomfortable and shifts attention onto your feelings instead of your message.
