Five That Do the Heavy Lifting

You don't need hundreds of phrasal verbs. A small core covers most daily situations. Start with these five:

  • Figure out = understand/solve ("We need to figure out the budget")
  • Come up with = create/invent ("She came up with a great idea")
  • Look into = investigate ("I'll look into the issue")
  • Set up = arrange ("Let's set up a meeting")
  • Put off = postpone ("Don't put off the decision")
