LESSON 2 · Find Your Power Voice
The Silence Weapon
Most speakers fear silence. They rush to fill every gap with words, filler sounds, or nervous laughter. But strategic silence is one of the strongest tools in your vocal arsenal. A well-placed pause before a key point creates anticipation. A pause after a key point lets it land.
Watch a skilled stand-up comedian. The laughs come after the pause, not during the punchline. Watch a skilled public leader. The most memorable moments are preceded by silence that forces the audience to lean forward. Silence is not empty. It is full of what you just said.
