LESSON 2 · Voice Care Essentials
Building a Voice-Friendly Day
Integrate voice care into your existing habits:
- Morning — hydrate before speaking. Gentle humming in the shower warms the voice naturally
- Throughout the day — sip water regularly. Avoid shouting, whispering, and excessive throat clearing
- After heavy voice use — give yourself 30-60 minutes of reduced speaking to let the vocal folds recover
- Evening — avoid eating within 3 hours of bed to reduce acid reflux. Steam inhalation helps if the air is dry
- Weekly — notice patterns. If your voice is consistently tired by Friday, you may need to restructure speaking demands.
