LESSON 2 · Voice Care Essentials

Building a Voice-Friendly Day

Integrate voice care into your existing habits:

  • Morning — hydrate before speaking. Gentle humming in the shower warms the voice naturally
  • Throughout the day — sip water regularly. Avoid shouting, whispering, and excessive throat clearing
  • After heavy voice use — give yourself 30-60 minutes of reduced speaking to let the vocal folds recover
  • Evening — avoid eating within 3 hours of bed to reduce acid reflux. Steam inhalation helps if the air is dry
  • Weekly — notice patterns. If your voice is consistently tired by Friday, you may need to restructure speaking demands.
