Choose Your Mic

Lapel (lavalier) mics clip to your clothing and provide hands-free speaking. They pick up consistently as long as they are positioned correctly — typically 6-8 inches below the chin on the chest.

Handheld mics give you control but require awareness. Hold them at a 45-degree angle about 2-3 inches from your mouth. Podium mics are fixed, which means you must stay fixed — a limitation that restricts natural movement and gesture.
