LESSON 1 · Paradoxes That Break Your Brain
Two Boxes, One Trap
Someone places two boxes before you. Box A always has $1,000. Box B has either $1,000,000 or nothing. A being who has predicted human choices correctly 99% of the time has already decided what goes in Box B.

Your gut says take both — guaranteed $1,000 plus whatever is in Box B. But people who take both almost always find Box B empty. One-boxers walk away rich. Newcomb's paradox shows the "obvious" rational choice can be wrong when a predictor is involved.
