Your Argument Construction Checklist
Before presenting any important argument:
- State your claim in one clear sentence — if you cannot, you are not ready to argue
- List your three strongest pieces of evidence and verify each one independently
- Explain the reasoning chain — how does each piece connect to your claim?
- Name the two strongest counter-arguments and prepare a specific response to each
- Check for hidden assumptions — what must be true for your argument to work?
