LESSON 1 · Decide Together

How Groups Decide

Groups usually decide by consensus, majority vote, authority, or delegation. Each trades speed, buy-in, and failure modes, so pick the method before the argument starts.

Most groups just reuse whatever method worked last time. That habit is fine for the coffee order and dangerous for the hire.

The real failure is never pausing to ask which method this particular decision calls for. Choosing the process before anyone argues the issue is half the job — and it is the step almost everyone skips.
