The Delegation Calculation

Every hour you spend on a task that someone else could do is an hour stolen from tasks that only you can do. Delegation is not about being too important for certain work.

Most professionals hold onto tasks long past the point where delegation makes sense. The reasons are predictable: perfectionism ("nobody does it like I do"), identity ("this is what I am known for"), and short-term math ("it is faster to just do it myself"). Each is true in isolation and catastrophic at scale.
