LESSON 4 · Your Emotional Operating System
Tools for Sadness
Sadness slows you down for a reason. It signals loss and creates space for processing. Fighting it makes it worse; working with it lets it move through you.

Behavioral activation interrupts the cycle: text a friend, walk outside, cook a simple meal. Action generates the energy that sadness drains. Time-limited grieving also helps — feel it fully for 20 minutes, then deliberately switch activities.
