LESSON 5 · Your Emotional Operating System
Advanced Techniques
Once basic journaling feels comfortable, these techniques deepen the practice.
Unsent letters: Write to someone you have unresolved feelings toward. Say everything. Never send it. Especially useful for grief, anger, and complicated relationships.
Perspective writing: Describe a conflict from the other person's point of view. This builds empathy and often reveals things you had not considered. It does not mean they were right, only that your understanding becomes more complete.
Future self: Write a letter from your wiser self five years from now. This activates long-term thinking and eases present-moment struggles.
