LESSON 1 · Tame the Anxiety Monster
Not All Anxiety Is Equal
Most people use "anxious" to describe everything from mild unease to paralyzing dread. But anxiety is not one thing — it is a family of related experiences, each with different triggers, sensations, and solutions.
Treating all anxiety the same is like treating all pain the same. A headache and a broken leg both hurt, but you would never use the same remedy. Knowing which flavor you have is the first step to managing it.
The major types are generalized anxiety (chronic worry about everything), social anxiety (fear of judgment), performance anxiety (fear of failure under pressure), and existential anxiety (dread about meaning and mortality).
