Generalized Anxiety

Generalized anxiety disorder is the background hum of worry that never quite stops. People with GAD do not worry about one specific thing — they worry about everything. Finish one worry, and another takes its place.

The hallmark is what-if thinking: What if I lose my job? What if my partner leaves? What if this headache is serious? The brain produces an endless stream of hypothetical threats.

Physically, GAD shows up as jaw and shoulder tension, digestive problems, fatigue, and a mind that refuses to power down at night.
