LESSON 2 · Escape Toxic Patterns
The Helper's Trap
There is a specific kind of person who cannot stop helping others — even when it costs them their health, relationships, and peace of mind. They answer every call, solve every problem, and say yes to every request.
This pattern is called codependency, and it disguises itself as love. The codependent person truly believes they are helping. But underneath sits a quiet transaction: being needed feels like the only way to matter.
Codependency is not kindness. It is a survival strategy learned in childhood — usually in a family where the child had to earn love through caretaking. The adult version looks like generosity but works like a cage.
