How to Set Boundaries

Effective boundaries follow a simple formula: state, consequence, enforce.

State clearly. "I need you to stop commenting on my weight." No qualifiers. No apology for having a limit. Clarity is respect.

Name the consequence. "If it happens again, I will leave the conversation." The consequence should be realistic, proportionate, and something you can actually enforce.

Enforce consistently. When the line is crossed, act without negotiation, anger, or guilt: "You commented on my weight. I am leaving now." Calm. Final.
