Some dream differences are bridgeable and some are not. If one partner wants children and the other does not, that is a fundamental incompatibility that compromise usually cannot resolve.

The biggest mistake couples make is avoiding hard conversations because they fear conflict. But avoidance delays conflict until the stakes are higher. Having the career conversation at 25 is uncomfortable. Having it at 35 when one partner has been waiting is devastating.
