Make The Shift

To move from punishing to teaching:

• Pause first — ask "What's the natural result here?" before reacting
• Let safe discomfort happen — cold, hunger, and boredom are honest teachers
• Set logical limits up front — "If you throw sand, we leave the playground," said before, not after
• Add empathy out loud — "I know losing the tablet stings"

Discipline isn't about making kids suffer. It's about making the lesson land.
