Volume Is Not Authority
When you raise your voice, you feel more in control. But you are actually less in control. Yelling is a sign that your nervous system has been activated, and an activated nervous system makes poor decisions.

Children learn early to read your vocal tone for danger signals. When you yell, their stress response activates and they enter fight, flight, or freeze. None of these states lead to learning or cooperation. A calm voice reaches a brain that can actually listen.
