LESSON 2 · Screens: The Modern Battle

Grow Their Voice

The document changes over time, but so should your child's say in it. The shift tracks their age:

  • A seven-year-old gets a small vote on a rule or two.
  • A twelve-year-old helps shape the limits themselves.
  • A fifteen-year-old can lead the conversation while you guide it.

Handing over more voice as they grow teaches the lesson that outlasts any screen limit: rules are not arbitrary — they are reasoned, and they can be questioned. That belief travels with them into every choice ahead.
