How to Respond

The goal is not to eliminate rebellion but to keep the relationship intact through it. That starts with a mindset shift: treat the pushback as information, not insubordination.

When they push, respond with curiosity instead of control: "Help me understand what this means to you" rather than "Absolutely not." You will not agree on everything. That is the point. Your job is to stay connected enough that they come to you when it really matters.
