Work With It, Not Against It

You cannot stop teenage rebellion. You can only choose whether it happens with you or against you. A few strategies that work:

• Offer safe outlets: clothing, music, hairstyle
• Hold firm on what truly matters: safety, respect, honesty
• Pick three non-negotiable rules and let the rest be their call
• Try "I disagree, but I trust you to handle the consequences"

Control everything and you get a teen who either caves completely or blows up. Neither outcome is healthy. Every boundary they push is a skill they are building, so guide the pushing rather than try to end it.
