LESSON 4 · Parenting Your Teenager

What Ready Looks Like

Readiness is less about age than about whether they can handle real friction without you in the room. A teen close to launch can usually:

  • Recover from a mistake without a parent smoothing it over
  • Book their own appointment and actually show up
  • Push back politely on an adult when something is wrong
  • Sit with a hard feeling instead of needing it fixed at once
  • Ask for help clearly, then act on the answer

Missing a few is normal. They simply mark where to keep practicing.
