LESSON 1 · Nutrition Myths Busted
The Real Superfoods
If superfoods actually existed, they would be boring and cheap. Consider what these everyday foods deliver:
- Eggs — complete protein, choline, and B vitamins for pennies
- Canned sardines — omega-3s, calcium, and vitamin D for far less than salmon
- Potatoes — potassium, vitamin C, and resistant starch
- Liver — extremely nutrient-dense and packed with iron, vitamin A, B12, and folate, but best treated as an occasional food; people who are pregnant or could become pregnant should be especially cautious with high-vitamin-A liver
No marketing company promotes liver, because it cannot be packaged as an exotic powder.
