LESSON 4 · Nutrition Myths Busted

What Organic Actually Means

Organic certification means food was produced under rules that prohibit most synthetic pesticides and fertilizers unless specifically allowed, bar genetic modification, and prohibit antibiotics and growth hormones in organic livestock.

Organic certification is a production standard, not a nutrition standard. It tells you how food was grown, not whether it is more nutritious. The label often carries more emotional weight than it does real meaning for your health.
