LESSON 3 · Feed Your Mind

Retraining Your Brain

Cutting sugar is hard because of the dopamine loop — but your brain does recalibrate. A few moves make it easier:

  • Taper, don't quit cold — sharp cutoffs trigger cravings; ease down week by week.
  • Pair with protein and fat — they slow sugar's rush and blunt the craving.
  • Read the label — sugar hides under many names; if it tops the ingredient list, think twice.
  • Keep whole fruit — its fiber slows absorption and the nutrients soften the hit.

Give it a few weeks. As your palate resets, foods that once felt plain start tasting naturally sweet.
