Silhouettes That Curve

Want the illusion of an hourglass? These shapes do the heavy lifting:

  • Wrap dresses and tops: the diagonal wrap and tie pull the fabric in at the waist
  • Fit-and-flare skirts: a fitted waistband above a flared hem fakes hip curve
  • Peplum tops: the little ruffle at the hip adds width where you are straight
  • High-waisted trousers: raising the waistline shortens the torso and stretches the legs
