The Splurge-Worthy Pieces

Certain items reward investment disproportionately. Shoes top the list because quality leather molds to your foot, lasts years, and can be resoled.

These pieces share common traits: they are worn frequently, they sit close to high-contact areas like feet and shoulders, they are visible at a distance, and quality versions age better than cheap ones. Upgrade the items that take the most abuse and where quality degradation is most obvious.
