Mascara: the One Essential

If you only use one eye product, make it mascara. It opens the eyes, defines the lashes, and creates alertness and definition that no other single product matches. The right mascara transforms your entire face more dramatically than foundation or lipstick.

Application technique matters more than formula. Wiggle the wand at the base of your lashes and pull upward slowly. This deposits the most product where lashes are thickest and separates them as you go. Two coats on the upper lashes and one light coat on the lower lashes is the sweet spot for definition without clumping.
