Stop The Rehearsal

Every time guarding works, it gets stronger. The dog growls, the threat backs off, and the brain files the move under "that worked." Each repeat is a rep at the gym for the wrong muscle.

Blocking the chance to guard is not giving up — it is strategy. A dog that rehearses guarding ten times a day learns far slower than one that rehearses zero.
