LESSON 3 · Stop the Bite
The Pain You Can't See
A dog in pain is not aggressive — it is guarding a sore spot. That is why a sudden bite so often points to a vet, not a trainer. Watch for the pattern:
- Snaps when touched on the back — could be a spine or hip issue.
- Bites when an ear is handled — often an infection.
- Newly grumpy with age — pain or cognitive decline.
For any out-of-character bite, book a full exam with X-rays and a dental check. The cause is frequently invisible from the outside.
