LESSON 3 · Stop the Bite
A Plan While You Investigate
After an unexpected bite, manage first: avoid the exact bite setup, use gates for calm dog-only zones, and brief everyone on triggers and body language.

Muzzle training is not punishment — it is a safety tool that protects your dog, the people nearby, and you. A well-fitted basket muzzle still lets a dog eat, drink, and pant freely; it just takes biting off the table. Introduce it slowly and pair it with treats long before you ever need it, so the muzzle becomes good news, not a threat.
