Put It In Order

When the habit shows up, work the problem in this order:

• Vet check to rule out parasites, malabsorption, or pancreatic insufficiency
• Review diet with your vet if there is weight loss, diarrhea, unusual hunger, or signs food is not being digested well
• Remove access by cleaning up fast and supervising
• Train "leave it" with treats that beat stool

Doing one step alone often fails. The dogs that quit for good usually get the whole sequence, not a single quick fix.
